Shrimp Bisque
Bisques are creamy soups seasoned with various types of meats, and are very popular with shrimp and other shellfish. This shrimp bisque recipe should help you get started with experimenting on your own.
Ingredients
- 1 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
Cooking Directions
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over a low heat.
- Stir in flour, salt, white pepper, bouillon, and onion.
- Blend 3/4 cup cream into the mixture.
- Mix in shrimp.
- Increase heat to medium and stir until mixture thickens.
- Blend in remaining cream and wine into the mixture.
- Serve!
