King Crab Legs Steamed in Beer, Garlic, and Chili Powder

King Crab has a very thick shell but much more meat than snow crab, which works fine for this recipe as well. Steaming crab is a great way to prepare the meal. With our version, steaming the crab claws with beer flavored with copious amouns of fresh garlic and spicy chili powder seasons the crab meat witha pleasant taste. Feel free to add even more garlic and chili powder, and experiment to find your preferred taste levels.

Ingredients

  • 4 large king crab claws
  • 1 12 oz bottle Honey Weiss beer
  • 2 heaping teaspoons fresh minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons scallions, chopped
  • 2 heaping tablespoons chili powder

Cooking Directions

  1. To a large pot, add all ingredients except the crab
  2. Stir and bring to a boil
  3. Reduce heat to low
  4. Add the crab and cover
  5. Steam approximately 7-9 minutes or until crab is good and hot!
  6. Serve with melted butter
