Fish and Seafood Cooking Tips
King Crab
King Crab is a very large variety of crab. Claw to claw, it can grow up to 10 feet long and weigh up to 15 pounds. It is also referred to as Alaskan King Crab or Japanese King Crab because bounties are found mostly in the Pacific waters near Alaska or Japan.
The meat from the King Crab is light and flaky, rather delicate and perfect to cook with, pearly white rimmed with red.
King Crab is great for just about any recipe that calls for crab meat, and is interchangeable with snow crab meat, although you'll find much more meat with the King Crab. If serving a dish with the meat still in the shells, we recommend choosing King Crab over snow crab for a better dining experience, though your costs will obviously be affected.
