How to Clean Soft-Shell Crab

Some basic instructions on how to clean and prepare your soft-shell crab for cooking.

  1. Cut enough of the face to remove the eyes and mouth with a pair of kitchen scissors or a sharp knife.
  2. Lift one pointed side of top shell and remove the gills by pulling them out.
  3. Flip the crab over and repeat.
  4. Twist and remove tail flap.
  5. Rinse crabs thoroughly and dry.

The entirety of the soft-shell crab is edible.
